New Easter Chocolate from RNIB



BlindKiss has just picked up a press release from RNIB which indicates that they are producing special blind-friendly chocolate bars in time for Easter. Julie Copthorne of RNIB Public Policy said, "Visually impaired people are so often excluded from public holidays. Christmas is a bit lack lustre for blind and partially sighted people who can either tell what their presents are before they open them, or have no idea even when the paper is torn off. So we thought we'd make Easter extra special for them, and people with serious sight problems just love chocolate - it's the ultimate use of the other senses - the sound of the wrapper coming off, the rich smell of chocolate, the feel of it melting in your mouth and then, of course, the taste!"

We've heard a rumour that some of these new chocolates will be sent out, free of charge, to random subscribers to RNIB's braille magazines. We believe that giving blind people chocolate is possibly the best thing RNIB has ever done. If we have to be charity cases, we feel charitable chocolate is the way to go.
