The Channel 4 Blinded Season

We were all pretty shocked here at BlindKiss when we heard what Channel 4 intended to do with their Blinded Season. Well, I say shocked, perhaps "horrified" would be a better way of describing the way we reacted. And, on the whole, I think I can safely say that this series of programmes, (focussing on the mysticism of blindness, the wonderful things that the wonderful people at Moorfields can do, and how silly you'd feel if you were very well known and wandering around the country blindfold), really did meet with our expectations.

Well, I'm sorry, but I'm not feeling mystical, I'm feeling angry and let down.

How could Channel 4 not have realised that they'd got it so drastically wrong! Oddly, it seems that year by year, as further parts of the Disability Discrimination Act, (DDA) become enacted, given us mor rights, (supposedly), disability broadcasting zooms off in the other direction! And Blinded is just one example of this worrying trend.

Anyway, as usual, BlindKiss are here to tell you what we thought of it all...
